Club members from the Dutch kayak club "Kano Vereniging Dolfijnen" went for a paddle today and actually found the dolphins between puerto Calero and Playa Quemada for the first time in 2012 ! Their club name name must attract these fantastic creatures.

Roddy McDowell - Lead Guide and Coach of Kayakbute on the Isle of Bute, Scotland, is currently in Lanzarote doing some reconnaissance paddling with Kayak del Mar.
Roddy holds the highest award for personal competence within the British Canoe Union qualification framework as a 5 StarSea Paddler. He is a Level 4 Coach and can assess BCU 1 and 2 Star Awards and 3 Star Sea. His wealth of experience spanning 20 years of sea kayaking is evident in his knowledge of trip planning and multi day expeditioning. In addition to journeying in Scottish waters he has paddled in such diverse locations as the Isles of Scilly, Shetland, the Mediterranean, and circumnavigated North WestIceland. Roddy is planning to bring down a group from Scotland in September/October to participate in the Lanzarote Seakayak Roundtrip.

NEW! Kayak del Mar is proud to present a new mountainbiking adventure in cooperation with Pedales de Lava. Pedales de Lava is a mountain bike route which runs throughout the island of Lanzarote. It also passes through the small and nearby island of La Graciosa. It covers a distance of 247 kilometres and its riders accumulate a total of 3,500 meters of elevation.

This week we had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. K1 Marathon man himself: Manuel Busto, 10 times World Champion. Busto has chosen Lanzarote for some relaxing quality time with the family combined some with warm-weather Surfski training just before Christmas.

Sharon Colley and Shaun Thrower from Hereford Kayak Club and recent finishers of the worlds longest kayak race, the Yukon River Race of 460 miles are doing some pre-Christmas training on Nelo Surfski's at the Kayak del Mar training base.

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology sport association's paddle group is coming to Lanzarote again this december. They will be based in La Graciosa island from where they will explore the north of Lanzarote and the islands of La Graciosa, Monta�a Clara and Alegranza in 8 single kayaks and one doubble.

Members of the Belgian Olympic flatwater and slalom teams after a training session.

 

The Belgian Olympic flatwater kayak team will be training for London 2012 on Nelo Surfski's at Kayak del Mar from the 7th. to the 21st. of november 2011.
